Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner
An ARNP is a registered nurse who has successfully completed advanced education and training in assessment,
diagnosis, and treatment of conditions. In Washington State, an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner is licensed to independently
practice with full prescriptive authority. ARNP’s may diagnose, and treat acute and chronic illnesses,
perform physical exams and assist in surgery. ARNP’s ensure quality of care through the use of consultation
and patient education. Many nurse practitioners choose to specialize, much like the physicians they work with and support.
Nurse practitioners are routinely found in practices that have a high need for patient education.
